Off Grid Camping Saxmundham, Suffolk
This is unashamedly wild camping, with everything off the grid and as nature intended, providing plenty of space and scope for no-frills stays. A stay at Wild Orchard Camping allows you to disengage from your daily routine and reconnect with nature, others, and yourself. A place where you may make memorable experiences with your family. Allow nature and the magic of the campfire to send you home feeling healthy, energetic, and peaceful as you immerse yourself in our serene wild orchard.
Each pitch has a fire pit for toasty times and chatting evenings, as well as a bowser full of water for cooking and washing (drinking water must be purchased, although the first bottle will be provided).
There is a shower, however it should be noted that it is solar powered and thus subject to the elements (on some days, it may only be for the courageous…).
Firewood, kindling and fire lighters can be purchased on site.
Despite its proximity to the A12 there is plenty of wild life, birds, a pheasant, rabbits, bats , glow worms, the occasional muntjacs, owls and badgers although these are mostly heard not seen
Thanks to low light pollution in the area the night sky’s are fantastic when it’s clear.

If an afternoon of birdwatching appeals, the resort is just 20 minutes from the RSPB Minsmere (which is within the AONB), and if not, the Africa-themed zoo Africa Alive is 25 minutes away, and the Suffolk Owl Sanctuary is around half an hour away. Because the location is conveniently positioned right off the A12, getting out and about should be simple.
If desired, nature-filled vacations can extend beyond the site’s boundaries: it’s only five minutes from here to the edge of the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), making it a great spot for long coastal walks, calm cycling down rural lanes, and animal spotting. Africa Alive, Oasis Camel Park and Sutton Hoo within a 25-minute drive
